Deutsche Bank recently celebrated its
40th anniversary in Indonesia, marking its successful evolution from a provider of banking services to European companies operating locally, to a fully-integrated investment bank with strong links to domestic capital markets and Indonesia’s private and public sectors.
Deutsche Bank first established a presence in Indonesia in
1969. Today, the Bank operates a fully integrated corporate and investment banking business, encompassing a wide range of products and services offered by the bank globally. It employs over 350 people in Indonesia, located at the Deutsche Bank building in Jakarta and its branch office in Surabaya.
Deutsche was one of the few international banks to remain committed to Indonesia throughout the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997-98. By assisting the local banking sector to re-capitalize and acting as the largest underwriter of local government bond issuance, Deutsche Bank has created strong links with local markets, the government and the broader business community.
