Deutsche Bank has won 16 titles at Global Finance magazine’s “
World’s Best Bank 2008” awards, held on Monday, 13 October, at the National Press Club in Washington, during the IMF meetings.
Among the awards, Deutsche Bank was named
Best Foreign Exchange Provider Globally, in Western Europe and in Germany. The Bank was also named
Best Investment Bank in Western Europe and Germany (see below for the full list of awards won by Deutsche Bank).
According to Global Finance, “The past 12 months have been some of the most difficult ever for investment banks, but many institutions continue to provide outstanding services to their clients … The banks that won were not necessarily the biggest but, rather, the best and the ones that major corporations around the world should consider when looking for a financial adviser to handle their investment banking needs.”
The awards, which cover 23 countries, are judged by Global Finance’s editors, with input from industry analysts, corporate executives and banking consultants, using a series of criteria to identify the best investment banks in a wide range of categories, by geography and sector. The judges also took into consideration banks’ efforts to overcome the difficult market conditions, as well as innovation, competitive pricing and the aftermarket performance of underwritten securities.
