FIT For Charity Run
Deutsche Bank Group is a full supporter, organizer and driver of the FIT For Charity Run. FIT For Charity was established in 2005 by Deutsche Bank Group and a core group of companies in the financial industry, to make a difference to society by raising money for local community organisations serving important but not necessarily well recognised or understood needs. As a core member since its foundation, Deutsche Bank Group has supported the organization of its events and contributed a large number of runners and volunteers, and has been a major sponsor.
The first FIT For Charity Run took place in September 2005 and aimed for the ‘triple 5’ of 500 runners running 5 kms to raise JPY5 million but significantly exceeded these targets. It has since grown to an annual event of over 4,700 participants and most recently raised more than JPY57 million.
FIT For Charity is organized and run purely by volunteers from participating financial institutions. Its volunteer members organise and manage the actual event; gather donations and sponsorships from numerous financial institutions, clients and firms serving the financial sector; and identify and partner with select charity organizations to utilize the funds raised. Through these efforts, more than 90% of the funds raised by FIT For Charity pass on through to the selected community organizations as donations.
