Banking on Green Site Launched in Japanese
2009.02.10

Deutsche Bank Group today announced the launch in Japanese of its global ‘Banking on Green’ website, focused on its commitment to the long-term sustainability of our ecological and social environments. As a global citizen, Deutsche Bank Group recognizes the responsibility it shares to battle climate change by optimizing its use of resources, while upholding its responsibilities to all stakeholders across all levels of its operations to uphold a healthy social environment.

The Banking on Green site, which launched in 2008 in both English and German editions, reflects Deutsche Bank Group’s particular emphasis on the central position of sustainable action in its operations, by taking into account ecological, social and ethical dimensions in pursuit of its economic objectives. Among the examples offered are the Solar Impulse and Greentowers projects, a project to make the first solar-powered flight around the world in 2011 and the implementation of the Group’s climate strategy through the modernization of its headquarters building in Frankfurt to reduce its environmental impact.

The new Japan site also includes information on Deutsche Bank Group’s corporate and social responsibility (CSR) initiatives Japan, among them a focus on the commitment of employee volunteers to Special Olympics Nippon, the FIT For Charity Run and the Ecocap initiative, as well as sponsorship of contemporary art.
