In Nanjing, as part of the ‘Germany Esplanade’ exhibition, Deutsche Bank unveiled its sponsored pavilion designed around the theme ‘Better City Better Life’, in October 2007. The exhibition – part of the ‘Germany and China – Moving Ahead Together’ project - is dedicated to promoting Germany as an innovative and creative country in China.
Within the Germany Esplanade exhibition, Deutsche Bank has a dedicated pavilion, themed, ‘My vision for a better life’. The Bank is represented as a partner for people from all walks of life; helping them realise their dreams related to achieving success in their personal endeavours across areas as broad as scientific research, education, intercultural understanding, art, culture, environment and business. One focal point will be the Bank’s services helping individuals set up businesses and wishing to access global markets.
Visitors to the Germany Esplanade can also learn about sustainable urban development, or get a taste of the German way of life in a beer garden, for instance. Exhibitions of works by German artists as well as a pop festival with roughly 200 musicians from Germany and China will round off the cultural programme.
Deutsche Bank is one of the official partners of the ‘Germany and China – Moving Ahead Together’ project, which is due to run until 2010 in cooperation with the “Germany – Land of Ideas” project, and which was organised by the German Foreign Office in cooperation with the Goethe Institute, the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business (APA) and the ‘Germany - Land of Ideas’ initiative.
Lee Zhang, chairman of Deutsche Bank China, said, “Deutsche Bank first established a presence in China in 1872, and in recent years has demonstrated it is fully committed to China through a range of significant investments and the role it has played in landmark capital market transactions. As a significant international financial institution, Deutsche Bank aims to help its corporate, small business and personal clients achieve their goals.”
