Germany and China – Moving Ahead Together: Stopover in Shenyang
‘Green’ prizes for clever people: The “Banking on Green” quiz in Shenyang announces the names of the 15 proud winners.
How much energy will be saved through the refurbishment of the Deutsche Bank head offices? How big is the wingspan of the solar airplane “Solar Impulse”? Tricky questions awaited interested visitors to the Deutsche Bank pavilion during the Germany Esplanade in Shenyang. A tour of the pavilion led the visitor through different stages which each presented an aspect of Deutsche Bank’s ‘green’ commitment. Whoever read up on the “Green Towers”, the solar airplane “Solar Impulse” or the bank’s ‘green’ financial products was able, with a little luck, to answer all the quiz questions. The prize consisted of Solar Impulse backpacks filled with an assortment of exciting prizes connected to the pioneering project.
Countless visitors to the pavilion wrote down the correct answers and registered for the quiz on www.banking-on-green.com. The 15 lucky winners are now able to enjoy their prize: a trendy one-strap backpack and a long-sleeve T-shirt from the official Solar Impulse collection offer both fashion and comfort. To round off the prize there is a memory stick with an integrated lamp and ball-point pen as well as a solar radio powered solely by the sun. In keeping with the spirit of the pavilion and making a statement for going ‘green’.

“Deutsche is Banking on Green” in Shenyang
"Deutsche is Banking on Green" – This is the theme for Deutsche Bank's exhibition on the fourth stage of the campaign "Germany and China – Moving Ahead Together", which is taking place in June 2009 in Shenyang in association with the initiative "Germany – Land of Ideas". The bank's pavilion is exhibiting several outstanding examples of how it promotes sustainability for its customers, together with its partners and is itself leading by example.
Special attention is given to providing visual and tangible examples of the bank's broad commitment to sustainability. So, for example, the exhibition combines 3D models with multimedia elements and concise explanations to give an impressive insight into Deutsche Bank's sustainability strategy: "Banking on Green".
"Greentowers" is one of the pioneering projects being exhibited in the pavilion. A model and a 3D-animation show the headquarters of Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt – which will be one of the most environmentally-friendly high-rise buildings in the world, when the refurbishment is completed. The renovation plans are designed to create an ecologically sustainable office building with a remedial design that sets world-class standards.
Directly opposite is "Solar Impulse" – a ground breaking project supported by Deutsche Bank as the main partner. It ambitious aim is to fly a manned aircraft around the world in 2011 – powered entirely by solar energy. Day and night. An interactive model gives visitors a fascinating insight into this vision.
A display dealing with the commercial aspect of sustainability rounds off the pavilion. It presents investment opportunities that combine ecological and social responsibility with attractive potential returns. Deutsche Bank helps private individuals and businesses to profit from these opportunities – for example, through the Climate Change Fund run by DWS or structured investments.
After learning about Deutsche Bank’s key sustainability initiatives, visitors to the pavilion are invited to take a photograph in front of the Greentowers, and to participate in an online quiz. A personal participation code is provided on the back of the photograph. Entrants will stand the chance of winning one of fifteen Solar Impulse one-strap backpacks with a solar radio, a Solar Impulse memorystick and a Solar Impulse long sleeve inside.
Deutsche is banking on green – in both its social commitments and commercial activities. This is an invitation for all who want to join us on this road to a clean and stable future – not just on the "German-Chinese Promenade" in Shenyang.
