Saarbrücken, 22nd June 2009 – Even if the Saarland is one of the smallest of Germany’s federal states, it is the home of some pretty big ideas. Since 2006, 31 success stories have been recognised by Deutsche Bank and the “Germany – Land of Ideas” initiative and awarded the title of “Selected Landmark” as part of the “365 Landmarks in the Land of Ideas” competition.
In honour of these history makers Deutsche Bank hosted a reception with the Premier of the Saarland, Peter Müller, on 22nd June. All of the recipients of the award granted by the Federal President in the past three years – such as Nanogate AG or the “Business Angels” initiative run by the Saarbrücken Chamber of Industry and Commerce – met together to network with politicians and representatives e.g. from science and commerce.
As a token of the innovative prowess of the Saarland Jochen Weller and Marie-Therese Bettscheider of Deutsche Bank together with Stefan Bruckner of the “Germany – Land of Ideas” initiative presented the Premier with a large map of Germany depicting all of the winners from the area. Evidence that this is a region where the future starts!
Premier Peter Müller recognised the creativity and future viability of the “Selected Landmarks” who are not only locally successful, but also nationwide and even worldwide. “Each and every one demonstrates ingenuity and talent together with a high degree of commitment,” was how he summed the prize-winners up.
