1870


Deutsche Bank was founded in Berlin to promote and facilitate trade relations between Germany and international markets.


1888


Deutsche Bank received the first concession to build and operate the Anatolian Railway, which linked Istanbul with Ankara and Konia.


1899


Deutsche Bank received the “preliminary concession” for the Baghdad Railway, which obliged to build a railway from Konia to Baghdad and on to Basra.


1909


Opening of Deutsche Bank Constantinople branch, at that time its second foreign office.


1918 - 1923

British and French military authorities controlled Deutsche Bank Constantinople branch and closed its operation.


1923


Reopening of Deutsche Bank Constantinople branch.


1929

The branch changed its name to Deutsche Bank Istanbul branch.


1944


Closing of Deutsche Bank Istanbul branch.


1954

Opening of Deutsche Bank Representative Office in Istanbul.


1959

Liquidation of the former Deutsche Bank Istanbul branch started.


1972 - 1973

Liquidation of the former Deutsche Bank Istanbul branch was concluded and the branch deregistered.


1987


Türk Merchant Bank A.S. was founded as a joint venture of the American Bankers Trust and the Turkish Türkiye Is Bankasi.


1997

After Bankers Trust had taken over the entire share capital of Türk Merchant Bank A.S., the subsidiary was renamed to Bankers Trust A.S.


1999


Deutsche Bank acquired Bankers Trust and its Turkish subsidiary.


2000


Bankers Trust AS was renamed to Deutsche Bank A.S.


2004

Changing its banking license Deutsche Bank A.S. extended the scope of its services to offer a wider range of corporate banking products.


2005

Deutsche Bank completed the acquisition of Bender Securities.


2007

Closure of the Representative Office Istanbul
