Around the globe, Deutsche Bank employees are making a world of difference to peoples' lives by sharing their time and skills. Promoting this culture of volunteering, Deutsche Bank Singapore ran Singapore Volunteer Month from August 15 to September 15 which saw 345 employees sign up to volunteer.

On August 13, to kick off Volunteer Month, Philip Lee, Chief Country Officer Singapore and Chandra Mallika, Chief Operating Officer APAC joined a team of volunteers to help clean up Life Community Services Society’s Student Care Centre.

Over the subsequent four weeks, employees actively participated in more than 30 volunteering events, ranging from hands-on work such as brightening homes and centres for beneficiaries of Society of Physically Disabled (SPD), HCA Hospice and Life Community Services Society, beautifying classrooms at SADeaf schools, surveying families supported by Beyond Social Services, and helping to prepare and distribute food for Willing Hearts and Yong-En Care Centre.

Volunteers also spent time with the beneficiaries, visiting families, elderly and hospice patients. Activities included taking beneficiaries of SPD for the annual Fun Walk, visiting the SEA Aquarium, and participating in the Walk for Children event in support of Singapore Children’s Society.  Volunteers also helped facilitate arts and photography workshops, teach and contribute in events planning and manning for Lakeside Family Services, TOUCH, AIDHA, Cat Welfare Society and Caregivers Alliance.

The August volunteer month was a major success, where 345 volunteers contributed more than 1,680 hours of their time to the community.
