Encouraging volunteerism in the next generation

Deutsche Bank has partnered with Singapore Management University to sponsor an award encouraging volunteerism among its students. The Deutsche Bank Born to Be Youth Engagement Award is endowed a prize money of SGD 5,000 to fund the respective project. It is given to the group of students with the best corporate social responsibility project to inspire them and ultimately develop a movement of young working adults who are keen to contribute to the community.

This year’s award goes to Project Gazaab Nepal, consisting of 20 student volunteers who conducted entrepreneurship training in a village in Dhulikhel, Nepal. The students created two separate syllabus to provide training based on the needs of the villagers in order to deliver great impact. After more than a week of classroom teaching, the students conducted a full-day market simulation to ensure the trainees were able to tie all concepts together and illustrate their interdependence in a real market conditions.
