Born to Be – Steinway Youth Piano Competition

Following the success of the first Steinway Youth Piano Competition in Asia In 2012, Deutsche Bank Bangkok again sponsored Thailand Steinway Youth Piano Competition 2014. Organised by the Bangkok Charity Orchestra (BCO), the event was held on April 27, 2014 at Siam Kempinski Hotel.

The winner,17-year-old Kant Kosoltrakul, will travel to Singapore in July to represent Thailand against eight Asian countries in the regional finals.

The winner of the Piano Concerto Competition, a segment in the Steinway Youth Piano Competition, was 19-year-old Supakorn Wongsumdang. He will perform the same complete concerto at the BCO concert in 2014 to raise funds for the Thai Blind Foundation, a non-profit supported by Deutsche Bank.

The Steinway Youth Piano Competition is open to all eligible pianists in Thailand. The competition allows talented young pianists to develop and enhance performing experience as well as to gain exposure to compete at an international level.

Committed to donating 100% of concert proceeds to charity, BCO promotes classical music in Thailand by providing a platform for aspiring musicians to perform. This partnership with the BCO is part of the Deutsche Bank Asia Foundation Born to Be programme. so that young pianists in Thailand can have every chance to become who they were born to be.
