Deutsche Bank Mauritius partners Caritas Ile Maurice

August 2016 │ Mauritius

In August, Deutsche Bank Mauritius partnered with Caritas Ile Maurice, a member of Caritas International which seeks to alleviate poverty through various support services.

The bank sponsored educational talks for teenagers on prevention of drug abuse and violence. The talks featured expert speakers from various organisations who have been exposed to the impact of the violence and drugs in society, and were able to deliver their ideas with real life examples which the teenagers can relate to. Deutsche Bank employees also attended the talks, and now have a better understanding of the various issues young people from different social backgrounds face.

Deutsche Bank also sponsored an educational trip for 51 vulnerable children to Casela Nature Park, accompanied by the bank’s volunteers. The park is home to more than 150 species of animals and exotic flora and fauna and was a wonderful educational experience for the children. It was a first visit to this park for many of the children. Through various activities, they learnt about nature and also had the opportunity to socialise with one another as well as with Deutsche Bank volunteers outside of their usual routine.

Another educational outing with the children from Caritas is planned for December.
