Deutsche Bank Singapore votes for its Donate One Day charities

May 2014 │ Singapore

Donate One Day is an employee-driven initiative where Deutsche Bank employees in Singapore are invited to voluntarily donate between one and thirty days’ base salary to charity.

Earlier this year, we invited employees to nominate their favorite charities and later, to vote on the final four which will benefit from this initiative.  After two weeks of intense voting where close to 800 employees cast their votes, we have our four Donate One Day charities:
- Arc Children's Centre
- Dover Park Hospice
- Society for the Physically Disabled
- Yong-En Care Centre

This is just the beginning. In the lead-up to the Donate One Day fund-raising initiative on September 25, we will work with the charities to further engage our employees.

In 2013, Deutsche Bank staff in Singapore raised SGD 435,000 through contributions to the Donate One Day initiative in the month of September. Over and above generous donations from staff, the Bank set aside SGD 158,000 towards this initiative, bringing the total funds raised in 2013 to SGD 593,000 for Action for AIDS, i-INDIA, Home Care Hospice Association, and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Since its launch in 2010, Donate One Day has seen more than SGD 1.4 million raised from staff donations to various staff-nominated charities in Singapore and regionally.
