Deutsche Bank Study Award for promising youth

July 2016 │ Singapore

In 2010, as part of Born to Be, Deutsche Bank established an endowment fund for the Deutsche Bank Study Award at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). SUTD, Singapore's fourth public university, works in partnership with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and China's Zhejiang University. It offers specialisation in architecture and sustainable design; engineering product development; engineering systems and design; and information systems technology and design.

The annual Deutsche Bank Study Award is given to two students who have good academic standing and demonstrate financial need. The award is used to finance their tuition fees.

This year, the Deutsche Bank Study Award, will help Dylan Tan, a Junior in Engineering Product Development and Denise Lee, a Senior in the same course.

Dylan aims to further his studies after graduation, ultimately hoping to provide less developed countries access to sustainable energy. He currently participates in research programmes in this field, and spends his free time fabricating prototypes. He said, “I want to learn as much as I can, so I may be better equipped with the knowledge to build a better world.”

Denise also seeks to further her studies after her graduation, and hopes to establish a career in academia, helping to shape young minds for a better future.
