Deutsche Bank volunteers helped at the Assisi Fun Day

September 2016 │ Singapore

The Assisi Fun Day is an annual charity fun fair carnival organised by Assisi Hospice to raise funds for the hospice’s day-to-day operating expenses. This year, a group of Deutsche Bank volunteers ran the fruit stall once again at the Assisi Fun Day.

Before the carnival, the volunteers arrived early to inventorise and bag the fruit before they started sales. The team transformed into professional fruit sellers for the day, selling more than SDG15,000 worth of fruits in under six hours.

Assisi Hospice is one of Deutsche Bank Singapore’s Donate One Day charities this year. The funds raised though the Fun Day and other fundraising initiatives will help when the hospice relocates to new, larger premises this year, which will enable them to serve twice the number of patients they currently do. The new centre will also house new wards for dementia and pediatric patients, as well as a new day care centre which will accommodate an additional 25 patients per day.

One employee explained why she volunteered with Assisi Hospice, “When I was last at Assisi’s Day Care Centre, I witnessed how passionate and well trained Assisi staff are in taking care of the emotional, social and physical needs of their patients. Volunteering with Deutsche has made my experience working in Deutsche Bank very meaningful. Opportunities to contribute to society is truly a blessing indeed!”
