Raptor Watch 2012 – Tanjung Tuan, Port Dickson

March 2012 │ Malaysia

On March 10, in conjunction with Earth Week, 54 corporate volunteers and their family members travelled to Tanjung Tuan, Port Dickson which is located along the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, to experience ‘Raptor Watch’. This event, organized by the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS), celebrates the return of the migratory raptors (birds of prey) back to their natural habitats in the Northern hemisphere during March and April each year and seeks to increase public awareness of the need to conserve the natural habitats of raptors.

Among activities undertaken by the corporate volunteers included a guided forest walk to view the flora and fauna in the forest reserve. The volunteers enjoyed the activities and walked away with a deeper understanding of the roles we all play in preserving the natural habitat and the importance of nature conservation.

Deutsche Bank Malaysia’s Chief Operating Officer, Ms Donna Chang presented a cheque for RM10,000 to the representative of MNS, Mr. Gary Phong to further the Bank’s commitment to sustainability.

Deutsche Bank Malaysia has been collaborating with Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) on the conservation of mangrove swamps and mangrove trees planting.
