In the words of 14-year-old Aman Singh who started his day with pizza-making and ended with designing his own car, “Learning has never been so interesting. I wanted to try my hand at everything, but soon realised that I must keep earning ‘kidzos’ (currency in Kidzania) before spending. Earning kidzos by being a tiffin delivery boy or practicing as a dentist was fun too.”
What seemed to be endless activities for the children resulted from ceaseless support from the volunteers. Ensuring each child was able to participate in their activity of choice, managing their safety and wellness, and arranging timely meals kept the volunteers on their toes. Parveen Shaikh, a CR volunteer said, “No doubt all the volunteers put in their 100% managing the event – from pre-event planning to actual execution and post-event activities. The smiling faces of the children made it all pay off and left us with renewed enthusiasm to start planning the next event!”
The day, which began with an early breakfast for the participating children, ended with cake-cutting, group photographs, and gifts for each child, while the volunteers went home with smiles and sweet memories.
