“Donate-a-Day” initiative raises funds for charities

October 2011 │ Singapore

As part of Deutsche bank’s broader support of Corporate Social Responsibility activities in Singapore and across Asia, “Donate-a-Day” is an appeal to all Corporate and Investment Bank employees to donate one working day’s worth of base salary to charity.

In its second year running, this initiative successfully concluded in October 2011 with over SGD210,000 raised. The funds will be divided equally among four charities - three local and one in India. Those in Singapore include HCA Hospice Care (hospice services for needy elderly), Life Community Services Society (bursaries and coaching for underprivileged children from low-income families with incarcerated family members) and the Society for the Physically Disabled (transport services for people with disabilities). The nominated charity in India is the Parivaar Education Society (educational assistance for children from impoverished backgrounds).

Boon Chye Loh, Head of Corporate and Investment Bank, Asia Pacific, thanked all colleagues for their generousity and empathy for those in less fortunate circumstances despite current challenging market conditions.
