Children from a school for the visually impaired touch the hearts of employees in Jaipur

November 2012 │ India

The CSR team Jaipur visited Rajasthan Natraheen Kalyan Sangh, our partnered NGO that works with blind and visually impaired children in Jaipur. The organisation aims to empower people under its care by developing their skills and providing them with opportunities for employment or to start their own business.

During this visit, the team donated a large refrigerator to the organisation to enhance the facilities at their mess hall which serves the 81 children living at the institute.  The volunteers also visited classrooms, dormitories, computer labs, a Braille public library, and a digital talking book recording studio.

Following this visit,he children from the school were invited to perform a prayer song at the Connections Expo in Jaipur where ten children rendered a wonderful prayer song at the start of the event.  The touching performance was appreciated by all present.  During this visit to our office, the CSR team presented the organisation with bed sheets to replace the ones that were worn out at their institute.

This CSR outreach was very special because, apart from the few CSR volunteers who visited the facility and spent time with the children, we brought warmth to the hearts many more employees in Jaipur who could not make it to the institute.
