Deutsche Bank and the Berliner Philharmoniker

November 2011 │ China

After the tours in 1979 and 2005, the world renowned Berliner Philharmoniker came to China for the third time. On November 13, 120 Deutsche Bank guests were treated to a live concert at the Shanghai Grand Theatre. The concert was conducted by Sir Simon Rattle, who has been the Orchestra's chief conductor and artistic director since 2002.

Henry Cai, Chairman of Corporate Finance, Deutsche Bank Asia, addressed the gathering with a welcome speech. "The Berliner Philharmoniker have been one of the world's leading orchestras for nearly 130 years.  A close partnership and the commitment to performing with passion have linked Deutsche Bank and the Berliner Philharmoniker for many years. The latest project we jointly develop is the Digital Concert Hall which is enabling music lovers worldwide to experience the Berliner Philharmoniker’s concerts live on the internet."

Henry also introduced the guest of honor, Mr. Martin Hoffmann, General Manager of the Berliner Philharmoniker Foundation, to the gathering.  Deutsche Bank guests along with other 1600 classical music fans enjoyed a phenomenal performance.
