Deutsche Bank Singapore named Corporate Philanthropist of the Year

November 2011 │ Singapore

Deutsche Bank Singapore has been named Corporate Philanthropist of the Year from the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC).

Launched in 2004 by President S R Nathan, the National Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards honour those who set excellence benchmarks in encouraging the spirit of giving in Singapore.

The award highlights the success of Deutsche Bank Singapore’s corporate social responsibility initiatives under the Deutsche Bank Asia Foundation framework. The NVPC cited Deutsche Bank as a leader, that "even in times of financial crisis, has remained strong in its commitment to community involvement." Boon Chye Loh, Head of Corporate and Investment Bank, Asia Pacific, who accepted the award on behalf of the Bank remarked “None of this success would have been possible without the efforts and passion of our staff. Social responsibility has been and will continue to be part and parcel of the way Deutsche Bank does business.”

Chan Chun Sing, Singapore's Acting Minister for Community Development, Youth & Sports, presented the award to Deutsche Bank and this year's other honorees at a ceremony at the University Cultural Centre on November 5.
