Deutsche Bank donates water tanks to four villages

August 2012 │ India

15 volunteers from DBOI Global Services in Jaipur, India, visited the Kalwara Gram Panchayat to donate four water tanks, each of 2,000 litres’ capacity, to fulfil the needs of four rural villages in the vicinity of DBOI offices.

The Sarpanch (Head) of the village was present to speak to the volunteers. He thanked the team and spoke of the lack of a water purification plant in the villages, which negatively impacted the health of the villagers.

The Sarpanch also talked about the lack of opportunities for graduate youths in the villages. After hearing this, the team immediately discussed plans to conduct various activities to engage the graduates and guide them in interview skills, communication and presentation skills, and resume writing skills.

The volunteers also visited the nearby village school and helped plant a few saplings in the school’s garden to spruce up the environment. The team also met with the school’s principal to discuss ways Deutsche Bank could further assist the school.

The CSR team is planning to return to the villages to help out further, such as organising a medical camp.
