Deutsche Bank volunteers observe World Alzheimer’s Day

October 2011 │ India

In observation of World Alzheimer’s Day on 21 September, Nightingales Medical Trust (NMT) organized an awareness campaign in Bangalore, India to inform and educate the public on dementia.

12 Deutsche Bank volunteers were on hand to help out at the talk for the elderly in Freedom Park. Miss Priyamvada from NMT discussed the signs and symptoms of dementia and possibility of early detection and also provided valuable information for caregivers.

The volunteers also boarded the Awareness Campaign Vehicle to help spread the message -“Remember Those who Can’t Remember”, “Make Dementia Health Priority”, Don’t Forget Who Can’t Remember”. They also distributed pamphlets to the public and went to Bowring Hospital to conduct a screening camp.

One of the volunteers noted, “Time is always valuable, and I’m glad we get to spend our time on a good cause. It is not the magnitude of our action but the love and passion dedicated to this cause that really matters.”
