The event offered non-profit organisations an opportunity to pitch their cause to an invited corporate audience in a bid to win engaged giving for their proposed initiative or programme. Our volunteers helped with organising the logistics at the event. The Fire Pitch was part of the larger International Volunteer Day celebrations organised by the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre.
Two Deutsche Bank sponsored cash awards, "Most Compelling Pitch" and "Most Creative Pitch", worth SGD4,000 each were up for grabs. The winners, decided through votes from over 100 members of the audience, were the Singapore Association for the Deaf (which offers support for the hearing-impaired) and We Care Community Services (which assist persons with addiction problems) respectively.
