Education – enabling talent

Discovering and actively nurturing talent is essential for the growth and progress of society and for the companies that operate within it.

With this in mind, Deutsche Bank Asia is committed to cultivating young talent in three areas: intercultural, cultural and financial education. It does so by funding a number of education projects and offering scholarships in these fields with the objectives of promoting equal opportunities and enabling youths to develop their talents and capabilities.

  • Deutsche Bank Born to Be Youth Engagement Award

  • DKS scholarship programme: Angelo Brian Pelino -- setting his sights on quality mainstream college education

    Brian always knew what he wanted in terms of his college education -- he wanted to earn a degree in Psychology from a reputable college in Davao City. For most people, this is a straightforward task. They only need to pass the entrance examinations, submit the required documents and settle the tuition fees. For Brian, it was a little more complicated. For one, his family did not have the resources to provide for his education. Second, Brian is blind. more

  • First batch of students graduate from the Deutsche Bank FCED Programme

This holds especially true for the four Deutsche Bank college scholars of the Families and Children for Empowerment and Development Foundation (FCED) who graduated from their respective chosen courses this year in May. Along with more than 290 scholars, the four were feted on May 23 in a special ceremony held in downtown Manila. more

  • Born to Be - Sem Pringpuangkeo Foundation

  • Four AkarakA scholars graduate from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Philippines

    Another batch of AkarakA scholars received their diplomas at the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde commencement exercise on February 22, 2014. Among the graduates at the Philippine International Convention Centre were four AkarakA scholars: Kristen Joy Atregenio, Dominic Medado III, Mariefe Picid, and Jhoanna Kate Sanchez. They celebrated their accomplishment with pride and satisfaction, having succeededdespite facing numerous challenges. In Dominic’s case, he had to put his education on hold for a year due to his family’s finances. Proud families watched the graduates marched onstage, with Mariefe Picid marking the moment with a fist pump. more

  • Deutsche Bank sponsors new learning resources for elementary schools in China

    In collaboration with Teach for China (TFC), Deutsche Bank sponsored new learning resources including projectors, dictionaries and whiteboards for elementary schools in Guangdong Province, China in November.   • Mock interview workshop for PAS students

    After the success of the mock interview workshop in October, on November 9 Deutsche Bank Hong Kong Risk, Compliance and Group Technology & Operations (GTO) employees united to prepare students from Princess Alexandra School (PAS) for their last step in the job-hunting process. Twelve graduating students from PAS, a local secondary school for students with physical and other disabilities, went to Deutsche Bank’s Hong Kong office in the International Commerce Centre on a sunny Saturday for a mock interview prepared by Deutsche Bank employees. more

  • Deutsche Bank volunteers help prepare English exercises for Sujaya Foundation

    Traversing boundaries of language and distance, on June 14, 33 corporate volunteers from Deutsche Bank read out and recorded over 80 English exercises for Sujaya Foundation in Mumbai. These exercises helped municipal schoolchildren in Karnataka familiarise themselves with spoken English. more

  • Deutsche Pakistan sponsors scholarships for female MBA students

  • Investing in Vietnam’s future – Vocational training for underprivileged youths

    It is quite a long and dusty journey from Hanoi to Tien Lang, an impoverished district in the heart of the Red River delta, a journey that took three hours for the Deutsche Bank corporate volunteers. On the way, the volunteers passed green paddy fields , busy farmers with the typical Vietnamese cone hats, tranquil water buffalos, small towns and poor villages. Several times, they had to stop and ask locals for the way to that remote district, south of the harbor city of Haiphong, where its project partner Save the Children Vietnam has helped Deutsche Bank identify a social investment project. more

  • Deutsche Bank awards scholarships to 294 HIV/AIDS affected children in northern Thailand

    On 6 May 2011, Deutsche Bank presented scholarships to 300 elementary, secondary, high school, undergraduate and vocational students as part of an educational scholarship assistance programme to orphans and vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS. more
