Deutsche Bank Hong Kong donate "Lai See" to children in need

January 2012 │ Hong Kong

Deutsche Bank made a difference to Hong Kong children in need through Lai See (red packet) donations during the Lunar New Year.

Staff in the Hong Kong office raised over HKD 53,000 for Children's Residential Home of The Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children (HKSPC). All the donations will go directly to the HKSPC to fund the renovation project of the Children's Residential Home. With the donations, HKSPC can turn an existing podium area into a playground, creating a new outdoor activity space available for its residents.

Over the past few years, the Deutsche Bank Asia Foundation has supported the HKSPC by sponsoring chicken pox vaccinations, beds for infants, and developmental training as well as donations towards its renovation fund. Last year, Deutsche Bank staff demonstrated their generous support for HKSPC's fund raising initiative. The donations were used to fund HKSPC's renovation project that aimed to improve the living environment of the Children's Residential Home built in the 1980's, and to add new facilities aimed at helping to enhance the children's overall development.
