Sparing just 45 minutes of their time, volunteers patiently recited the exercises while members of Sujaya Foundation recorded these sessions. The recordings will be converted into exercises and sent to municipal schools in villages for teachers to play out to their students.
An enthusiastic volunteer said, “The exercise transported me back to school where teachers gave us English lessons and we repeated every word diligently after them. Only this time, we are the teachers and the virtual world was our classroom.”
Anamika Radhakrishnan from Sujaya Foundation, who oversaw the activity, conveyed her thanks to the volunteers for their effort: "It is heartening to know you have so many socially responsible employees."
The Sujaya Foundation provides education to the underprivileged by incorporating the best academic practices at an elementary as well as advanced level. Through its English language immersion programmes, Sujaya attempts to bridge the gap between education and employment. For more information visit: http://www.sujayafoundation.org/.
The Sujaya Foundation has been supported by Deutsche Bank for almost a decade.
