Korea hosts 2012 “Run. Row. Ride. Around the World”

October 2012 │ Korea

Following the inspiring achievement of the Deutsche Bank Global Business Services (GBS) Corporate Citizenship program, "Run. Row. Ride. Around the World" in 2010 and 2011, Korea’s GBS hosted the 2012 Run. Row. Ride. walking event at Chunggechun Stream, followed by a charity auction on October 26. Over 100 Deutsche employees in Korea participated in the event to raise funds for Plan Korea, a local charity supporting underprivileged children. More than 3,000 euros was raised through this event.

The first part of the event started with a walk down Chunggechun Stream, located in central Seoul, right in front of the Deutsche office building.  While walking down the stream during a busy and crowded lunch time, our volunteers caught the attention of many pedestrians with their Deutsche Bank balloons. Each volunteer travelled a distance of 1 kilometre, contributing to GBS’ global target goal.

After the walk, lunch was provided on behalf of GBS Korea management, followed by a charity auction in the GBS office.  Many items such as cosmetics, clothes and ornaments were donated, and employees actively participated in the auction for a good cause.

Joanne Shin and Mi-Jeong Kim, co-Heads of Korea GBS, commented: “We are pleased to host another Run Row Ride event successfully with support from other departments and entities.  The proceeds raised will be used for a worthy cause.  This event exemplifies the spirit “One Bank, One Team” in Korea.”
