March 2014 │ India

On March 18, 2014 19 staff from the Bangalore Service Centre visited Jobs 60+ -- a project run by the Nightingales Medical Trust -- to educate & coach senior citizens on computer and internet usage. As the team arrived, they were greeted by the members of the institute were keen to explore the internet & learn how to navigate the world wide web.

Following a warm welcome and introductions, each member of the institute was coached on the basic requirements of email such as accessing Gmail, creating an account, sending mails, including attachments. It was encouraging to see the involvement of the group as the team successfully helped create accounts for all 25 senior citizens present at the venue. They were also trained on how to navigate websites & book bus and train tickets.

It was a very fruitful visit as the volunteers were able to teach the senior citizens the fundamentals of computer usage.
