Deutsche Knowledge Services holds its second annual Tiangge

November 2011 │ Philippines

In yet another act of solidarity, employees of the Professional Service Centre (PSC) Manila bonded anew to generate more funds in support of the company’s charity project which is the Deutsche Knowledge Services (DKS) Scholarship Opportunity Programme.

To ensure the success of the Tiangge, some employees donated pre-loved items that were still in good condition for sale at the bazaar. Some of them even contributed brand new items (including gadgets), which were auctioned to the highest bidders. Items sold at the fair included second hand laptops, books, shirts, shoes and toys. The event was manned and attended by DKS staff.

“My appreciation to all the staff who have volunteered to their time to ensure the success of this programme,” said Yong Sarza, head of the CSR Committee.

In 2007, DKS introduced its Opportunity Scholarship Programme to finance the education of deserving high school students in provinces outside of Manila. Partnering with Holy Cross and San Pedro Colleges in Davao City, DKS now has 34 scholars under this programme. The first batch of five scholars will earn their college diploma in March 2012.

College tuition, board and lodging, allowances and all fees are covered by the programme. The scholars are encouraged to choose any course they wish without the pre-requisite to work for Deutsche Bank or DKS upon graduation.
