Joining more than 5,000 other supporters in a sea of pink, they took to the streets on Saturday, 1 October in a 3.8 kilometres walk around the Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade, which was the opening event for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Singapore.
The Deutsche Bank representatives, many of whom were festooned in pink and brought their extended families along, contributed almost SGD 2,000 to the campaign. Held every October, the Pink Ribbon Walk seeks to drive home the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle to reduce the risk of developing breast cancer. One of the highlights of the carnival this year was the Pink Glove Dance with participants setting a record for the most number of people wearing pink gloves while dancing.
On 22 September, the Singapore Women's Network raised an additional SGD 13,000 for the Breast Cancer Foundation through its “Think Pink” initiatives and events.
