December 2012 │ Hong Kong

On December 2, Deutsche Bank staff participated in a corporate race jointly organised by Sun Hung Kai Properties and The Community Chest of Hong Kong (The Chest). The Race to ICC-100 saw about 300 runners compete as individuals and teams at the International Commerce Centre (ICC), the tallest building in Hong Kong and home to Deutsche Bank's branch offices, to raise funds for The Chest.

Deutsche Bank was one of the three sponsors of the event, which included a corporate relay for teams of four and an individual race, putting contestants’ stamina and teamwork to the test.

The charity event drew contestants including top international runners and business leaders. The opening ceremony commenced at 9:00 am followed immediately by the corporate relay race, consisting of 48 corporate teams of four runners each. Contestants climbed 2,120 steps and finished at the Sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck, rewarded with a spectacular 360-degree view of the city.

Alan Cloete, Co-CEO for Asia Pacific attended the event along with the Deutsche team, comprising Rowena Chu, Darius Naraghi, Felix Lee and Leon Wong, from Corporate Finance Hong Kong. The Deutsche team clocked an impressive 19 minutes and 59 seconds, coming in 27th of 48 corporate teams.

The officiating guests included local government dignitaries and community organisation representatives. All proceeds from the race will be donated to child and youth services under The Community Chest of Hong Kong.
