CSR Lunchtime talk by Sebastien Marot from Friends-International

September 2012 │ Singapore

On September 10, Deutsche Bank hosted a lunchtime talk by Sebastien Marot, Founder and Executive Director of Friends-International, an innovative social enterprise which provides protection, support and care to over 60,000 marginalised children and youths around the world each year. Deutsche Bank has partnered with this charitable organisation since 2004, providing support to children affected and infected by AIDS through holistic family services and livelihood training and opportunities.

Sebastien Marot spoke to more than 50 of our staff, using one particular family in Cambodia to highlight the multiple challenges in getting children off the streets. He also explained how important it is to assist the entire family to become self-sustaining, and how the Bank’s support has helped the organization to reach out to as many people as possible.

In line with the Bank’s CSR commitments to support the community, lunch was served by Dignity Kitchen, which is Singapore’s first hawker training school for disabled and disadvantaged people. The school adheres strictly to the health code and the students are often trained by top chefs who volunteer at the school.
