The evening provided a forum where leaders from Singapore's not-for-profit sector shared experiences, ideas and expertise with one another. With attendance of CEOs from 50 NGOs that cover the majority of the Singapore sector, it was a great success.
To round off a successful evening full of dialogue and discussion, The Light Executive Committee and CNPL announced two important decisions that confirm its effectiveness in the NGO sector:
- Chairing and supporting The Light will become a core responsibility of the executive director of CNPL, effectively institutionalising the networking forum
- Going forward, each NGO CEO will be able to extend an invitation to one person in their leadership team so that the next generation of leaders will be able to benefit from The Light.
The Light Leaders' Network was founded in late 2010 by a small group of charity organisation leaders, the Centre for Non-Profit Leadership and Deutsche Bank. Its aim is to provide the leaders of the not-for-profit sector with a forum to nurture communication and idea-sharing that would promote the spread of best-practice and enable leadership. Within a year of its founding, the network now counts over 100 charity CEOs as members.
