Volunteers do their part in safeguarding the mangrove ecosystem
September 2012 │ Thailand
On September 8, 120 volunteers from Deutsche Bank Bangkok and their families spent a day planting 1,200 mangrove buds at Bang Khun Tien District, Samut Sakorn Province in Thailand to restore the damage done to the area during the monsoon floods last year.
In the long term, this activity will help to safeguard the fragile mangrove ecosystem by protecting the endangered mangrove plants and reducing soil erosion. The volunteers walked away from this day with a deeper understanding of the environment.
