I work in the Coverage Business Solutions group, which means working very closely with the Institutional Clients Group for their technology needs. At the moment, we’re expanding some existing tools; we gather business requirements for these expanding needs and write up specifications for the development teams and manage these projects to ensure they get into production correctly. The end users are our internal sales force.
We do a lot of workshops with our users and business managers to find out what exactly is working for them and what they would like to see changed. We then gather these requirements and validate them with our technology teams to see if this is something we can provide. There’s a lot of back and forth at this stage where decisions have to be made and prioritization established. Then we write up a business requirement document and hand it over to the technology team to develop.
Rolling out new technology is a big deal for us too because it involves training our users and a lot of internal communications about when the technology will be available to use, by whom and all those other practical questions. Essentially, we’re solving people’s problems. That’s what we do and that’s what excites me about my role.
