Deutsche Bank listed in the most important sustainability indices again
With its sustainability performance, Deutsche Bank is still listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI World and DJSI Europe). The latter are made up of the best 10% of companies in a respective industry.
The assessment by the RobecoSAM company, which analyzes sustainability-related research information for investors, serves as the basis. This year, Deutsche Bank scored 72 points (out of 100, compared with 78 in the previous year) in the RobecoSAM rating and thus achieved better results than 92% of the participating financial institutions (compared with 76% in the previous year).
Furthermore, Deutsche Bank attained “Prime” status in the Oekom Research ranking once again. Oekom Research AG is one of the world’s leading rating agencies in the sustainable investment segment. The assessment of the social and ecological performance of a company is conducted on the basis of over 100 selected social and ecological criteria specific to the industry.
For the second consecutive year, Deutsche Bank is listed in the Global 500 Climate Performance Leadership Index (CPLI), which is based on an assessment by the international CDP organization (formerly: Carbon Disclosure Project). As one of 56 companies in the Climate Performance Leadership Index, Deutsche Bank scored 91 points (out of 100) and achieved a ranking of Band A (on a scale of A to E). Investors make use of the CDP data as a basis for investment decisions; other groups such as political decision makers or scientists use them in order to obtain information about data with climate relevance and the climate strategies of companies.
Deutsche Bank welcomes the fact that investors and shareholders are becoming increasingly more interested in the sustainability performance of a company in order to obtain an overall picture of its performance. Therefore, it strives to continuously improve its performance in the sustainability area and to make relevant data available in a transparent and comprehensive fashion.
Sabine Miltner, Group Sustainability Officer Deutsche Bank: “These good rankings serve as confirmation for us in our efforts to make our banking business sustainable and they demonstrate once again that Deutsche Bank holds a leading position in its industry. That can also be attributed to the fact that our business operations have been climate-neutral since 2013.”
