Nearly 4,000 volunteers from 17 countries supported a variety of social causes: from the provision of medical services in a village in Jaipur, India, over building work for two families in Malaysia, to the construction of a damn in Thailand, volunteers offered hands-on support where it was needed most. They partnered with local non-governmental organizations, to ensure the quality and sustainability of their efforts.

Deutsche Bank Asia Foundation committed itself to matching the volunteers’ ambition: it will donate more than 27,000 Euro to charities around the region, 10 Euro for every participant during the month.

Deutsche Bank Asia Foundation

The Deutsche Bank Asia foundation was initiated in 2003. It is committed to improving and sustaining the livelihoods of vulnerable communities in Asia. Working in partnership with non-government organizations and foundations, and in concert with community leaders, project facilitators, and staff volunteers, a variety of educational and innovative outreach programs have been successfully implemented across the region.

A growing pool of volunteers in the Asia-Pacific region

Deutsche Bank employees in the region commit to volunteering with a passion: in 2011, around 5,500 of them volunteered a total of 29,000 hours. This is an increase in volunteers of 20 percent to 2010, up to a third of the total of Deutsche Bank employees of the region. Between 2010 and 2011, 150 individual charitable organizations were beneficiaries of Deutsche Bank Asia Foundation’s support.
