Rounding up for the homeless. Deutsche Bank supports the StreetSmart campaign in the UK as well as the Sospeso Campaign in Belgium
StreetSmart, a charity sponsored by Deutsche Bank, announced its latest fundraising total of £610,000 collected from 580 participating restaurants and hotels. Sospeso in Belgium raised 150,000 euro in Belgium.

Both campaigns work with small grants people can donate in restaurants and cafés.
StreetSmart raises funds by adding £1 per table at participating restaurants during November and December. Deutsche Bank covers all the administration costs for the charity, meaning every penny raised goes to help those who need it most.
Centrepoint, the UK's leading charity for homeless young people, supporting 16-25 years olds with housing, learning, health and life skills, estimates the number of young people that experience homelessness at 80,000 per year in England.
Fifty per cent of StreetSmart funding is directed towards preventative programmes for 16-24 year olds, helping them with accommodation, health care, education, employment and training. Targeting support for young people is part of Deutsche Bank’s, youth engagement programme, Born to Be which aims to reach 160,000 young people over 4 years – helping them to realize their potential. Another initiative that targets the young homeless is the Street Child World Cup . Deutsche Bank supports team England for the 2014 tournament.
Sister campaign, SleepSmart, which adds a voluntary £1 donation to guest’s hotel bills, saw a substantial boost in donations in 2013 with top hotels such as Claridges and the Jumeirah Carlton joining the scheme, alongside loyal regulars such as The Landmark, The Andaz, Lancaster London and the Park Plaza Group.

Sospeso Caffè, literally “a deferred cup of coffee”, is a gesture of
solidarity towards the very poor. The tradition that began in the bars of Naples consists of ordering a cup of coffee and paying for two: one for yourself, and the other for a customer down on their luck. Deutsche Bank uses this same tradition in Belgium. Clients can donate via SMS. All in all 150.000 Euros have been raised. And transferred to two organizations, to 'Innocenti tegen honger' (Flemish part in the North) and 'Le Croix-Rouge de Belgique' (French speaking in the South).
Innocenti tegen honger' organized 15 new years dinners for those who normally would not be able to afford a nice NY dinner, serving in total 3,500 dinners in a large number of Flemish cities in the period 28/12/2013 until 09/01/2014.
Le Croix-Rouge de Belgique served 40,000 meals in the winter period in the French speaking part of the country out of 9 soup bars.
