The health and safety of our employees, business partners, suppliers and visitors is important to us. We want to create safe workplaces that are conducive to good health – accident prevention is a priority. Effective health and occupational safety management contribute to improving quality and productivity in the workplace as well as increasing employee job satisfaction.

Health and well-being

We devote a great deal of attention to health and well-being. In many countries, Deutsche Bank offers company medical care or direct access to highly ranked hospitals and medical facilities. In all regions, employee assistance programs are made available, covering work and personal matters, to complement medical care. On business trips, our employees have access to a full range of medical services and emergency care provided by the world’s leading service provider.

Prevention: Preventative healthcare and online health portal

We place special importance on preventative healthcare, which includes offering influenza vaccinations, staff events with a health focus and company sports events.
In Germany we are developing a new online health portal, which will summarize the support we offer in the areas of health, work-life balance, well-being and nutrition, in addition to our advisory services. The new portal will encourage employees to take responsibility, but will also underscore our responsibility as an employer to encourage a healthy work-life balance.

Flexible working arrangements for parents

For the 15th time

since 1996, Deutsche Bank was named one of the 2014 “Working Mother 100 Best Companies” in the US.

A family-friendly company

In 2017, Deutsche Bank was re-certified by the Hertie Foundation as a family-friendly company for the fourth time since 2007. The certification is awarded to companies that enable employees to balance their work and family life.

Compatibility between work and family life

Compatibility between work and family life is crucial for the employees’ motivation and commitment. Deutsche Bank offers employees a wide range of options in this area so that the requirements of the workplace can be harmonized with private and particularly family needs.

We have created 475 childcare places at or near the workplace. In Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States, an emergency ‘family service’ is provided as a stop-gap solution for periods not covered by long-term childcare arrangements. At our Asian locations we provide a number of family-related supplementary benefits. Deutsche Bank offers advice during parental leave as well as workshops and other services which help when people return to work – a time when work-life balance is particulary important.

Stress management and work-life balance

To protect mental health, we offer employees an introduction to stress management techniques in the form of online training modules and classroom training. We support flexible working schemes that allow employees to organise their time themselves. That includes part-time and mobile work options as well as the possibility of working from home.
