Landmarks in the Land of Ideas

Many urban centers in Germany are booming. While interest in city life is growing, smaller towns and communities, suffer from declining populations. These developments pose a range of challenges.

How to manage traffic in large cities in the future? How can young and old generations live together in an aging society? How to power the city of the future? And, last but not least, the question of how to make rural areas attractive.

We offer you a stage to realize your projects and access to a unique network.

The competition “Landmarks in the Land of Ideas” honors innovative solutions for cities and communities of tomorrow. Good ideas are sought from all regions of Germany that already provide answers today to the challenges of tomorrow. These are innovative solutions that serve as models both nationally and internationally. Whether they are projects and ideas from business, culture, science, environment, education or society, ingenuity knows no boundaries. Companies, research organizations and universities as well as art and cultural institutions, social enterprises and initiatives across Germany can participate in the competition. A high-profile jury selects the top 100 ideas that deliver a sustainable contribution to the city of the future.

More excitement awaits award winners in the course of the year: From the 100 “Landmarks,” the jury will select a national winner for each competition category to stand as a beacon of German innovativeness. As part of a nationwide online vote, a general public winner will also be selected from among the 100 award winners.
