Share Buybacks

The 2017 Annual General Meeting granted our management board the authority to buy back up to 10% of the share capital (206.7 million shares) before the end of April 2022. Thereof up to 5% (103.3 million shares) can be purchased by using derivatives. These authorizations replaced the authorizations of the 2016 Annual General Meeting.

During the period from the 2017 Annual General Meeting (May 18, 2017) until September 30, 2017, we purchased 14.1 million shares. The shares purchased were used for equity compensation purposes in the same period or are to be used in the upcoming period so that the number of shares held in Treasury from buybacks was 0.4 million as of September 30, 2017.

At the end of the Share Buyback Program the inventory in own shares within the buyback program was 1.2 million. The buybacks of the completed program amount to roughly 14.8 million shares which were used in the same period or are to be used in the upcoming period to fulfill delivery obligations in the course of share-based compensation of employees. Deutsche Bank has not cancelled any shares since the AGM 2016.
