On October 28, the Philarmonia Orchestra - London, directed by the famous Esa-Pekka Salonen, performed at the Teatro alla Scala, the renowned opera house in Milan, within Deutsche Bank Italy's 'International Symphony Orchestras' project.
Deutsche Bank Italy has been supporting this project since 2009, to contribute to the protection of the Italian cultural heritage. This effort is made possible through the sponsorship of FAI (National Trust in Italy), the most important non-profit organization aimed at preserving Italy's cultural heritage that may otherwise be lost. In the occasion of the concerts performed through the 'International Symphony Orchestras' project funds are raised to sustain the Trust. In particular, funds are being raised for the FAI's conservation project of the Villa Necchi Campiglio in Milan, built between 1932-1935 by architect Piero Portaluppi.
Representatives of the Italian banking and financial sector, along with top management of large industrial companies, made an appearance at event. Among them were: Ilaria Borletti Buitoni, Chairman of FAI, Dino Piero Giarda, Minister for Relations with Parliament, Federico Ghizzoni and Giuseppe Vita, CEO and Chairman of UniCredit Group, Fabrizio Viola and Alessandro Profumo, CEO and Chairman of Monte dei Paschi di Siena Bank, Luigi Roth, Chairman of Terna, and Anna Maria Tarantola, Chairman of the national broadcasting company RAI.
