Thanks to Fondazione Deutsche Bank Italia contribution, young children affected by Williams Syndrome and their families have now a dedicated person to refer to.

Empowerment for young people

2018 ? Rome

Fondazione Deutsche Bank Italia's contribution has made it possible to open a dedicated area for young children in the hospital "Bambin Gesù" in Rome. The aim is to provide young children affected by Williams Syndrome an empowerment path to assist them in an innovative way.

The initiative aims to help children and young people to reach an as high as possible level of independence and, at the same time, support their families in the overcoming of psychological obstacles. For this reason, a dedicated person would provide tutoring services to those children in their everyday life.

The Partner

Since 2009 the Italian Association for Williams Syndrome (Associazione Italiana Sindrome di Williams Onlus -AISW) helps families to face a complex day-to-day life due to the consequences that this rare syndrome has on the social relationships and the normal activities of those children affected. Currently, medicine has not found yet a cure for this illness that causes cardiovascular disease, developmental delays, and learning disabilities. These often occur side by side with striking verbal abilities, highly social personalities and an affinity for music. The objective of the association is primarily to give those children and their families a more serene life coping with the illness.
