Spotlights on art. Saturday 18th November Deutsche Bank opened the doors of its headquarters in Milan to host the conference "The catalog talks. Art Publishing in Italy and the Deutsche Bank Collection case" attended by more than 100 guests.

The conference was organized within Bookcity Milano, the initiative dedicated to books, readers and publishers that for four days has brought more than 1.000 events in the city. Deutsche Bank joined it in cooperation with Distretto Bicocca (Bicocca District) , a cooperation among institutions and companies in the hood, created to enhance and qualifying Milan Metropolitan City's northern area.

Angela Madesani, art historian, independent curator and teacher of Art Publishing at Accademia di Brera in Milan, opened the conference with an excursus on the history of art publishing in Italy, the importance of art publishing itself, but also about the catalogue itself, with its different ways of implementation and approach by curators.Marco Vianello, Director of Special Projects for Skira Editore, after presenting the case of SKIRA, explained the development of catalogues and the ambitious project made with Deutsche Bank: "Images of Italy", created after ten years from the opening of the Italian section of the Deutsche Bank Collection, with over 600 works distributed between Milan Bicocca, Milan Turati and Rome. A catalogue strongly influenced by Deutsche Bank's own philosophy: Art Works.

Easy to consult for every kind of interlocutor, the catalogue is a conversation between the artists, their works and Italy, the country that hosts the collection. After the conference, the audience was invited to take part to the guided tour of Deutsche Bank Collection's Milanese section. The event is part of the periodic opening plan of the Deutsche Bank Collection in Italy, aimed at bringing contemporary art to an ever-wider public.
