Deutsche Bank announced today that HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum Patrons of the Arts Awards has honoured the Bank as “Patron of the Art” for its contribution to the Art in Dubai during 2012. This is the fourth consecutive year Deutsche Bank has achieved this recognition.
The award recognized Deutsche Bank’s support through its Middle East Foundation for Art initiatives in the United Arab Emirates and particularly in Dubai. In 2012, Deutsche Bank supported many art projects including The Globe London Theater’s trip to Dubai to perform Shakespear’s play “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” for school students to experience both art and literature. In addition, Deutsche Bank organized its own classical music concert “Late Romantic Choral Masterworks" conducted by Deutsche Bank's regional head of Human Resource, Martyn Bagnall. Furthermore, Deutsche Bank is one of Dubai's Concert Committee main sponsors.
Commenting on the award, Philippe Vollot, Chairman of the Deutsche Bank Middle East Foundation and the Bank’s regional Chief Operating Officer, said “We are extremely honored to receive this prestigious award for the fourth time. Promoting contemporary art is part of our social responsibility commitment in the Middle East and especially in the United Arab Emirates. The Bank has a proud legacy of supporting creativity, and we hope to continue to build on this unique contribution.”
Established in 2008, Deutsche Bank’s Middle East Foundation is one of the Bank’s many foundations around the globe across Asia, Africa and the Americas. In addition, Deutsche Bank has active Corporate Social Responsibility programs across Europe and the UK. Deutsche Bank’s Middle East Foundation focuses on funding investments in arts, education, community development, sustainability, and volunteering in the Middle East North Africa region.
