The UAE is bidding to host the World Expo 2020 in Dubai under the theme ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’. Every five years and for a period of six months, World Expos attract millions of visitors. The World Expo has never been held in the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia in the history of the event.
Deutsche Bank had the honor to participate in the UAE's final bidding presentation reflecting on it's cooperation with brownbook, an Emirati contemporary art magazine for the Middle East.
The video "A model of opportunity" was shown for the first time during the UAE's final Expo bid on June 13th in Paris in front of the members of the Bureau International des Expostitions (BIE). The BIE is the international body responsible for overseeing the calendar, bidding, selection and organisation of World Expos. Through its 167 member states it embodies a global commitment to engage the public in promoting innovation in the service of human progress. HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, was presenting in front of a delegation led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed. It was the last presentation of the UAE before the decision will be taken in November where to host the Expo 2020.
