Deutsche Bank appoints Patrick O'Rourke as Chief Country Officer for New Zealand

Deutsche Bank announced today that it has appointed Patrick O'Rourke as Chief Country Officer for Deutsche Bank in New Zealand.

O’Rourke succeeds Brett Shepherd who, as previously announced, has become Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Craigs Limited, which expands the bank’s already successful partnership with Craigs Investment Partners ("CIP") to now include Advisory in addition to the existing Equity Capital Markets and Debt Capital Markets business of CIP.

JT Macfarlane, Executive Chairman, Deutsche Bank Australia and New Zealand, said: “Deutsche Bank has consistently ranked top three in New Zealand across Markets and Corporate Finance for several years. With Patrick leading this new structure, we stand to benefit from a host of opportunities both from our independent banking and markets activities and from our partnership with the strengthened Corporate Finance team at Deutsche Craigs Limited.”

O’Rourke was previously Head of Markets for New Zealand as well as Head of Illiquid Credit Australia and New Zealand, a role he will retain. In his capacity as CCO he will report to JT Macfarlane and, for Illiquid Credit, to Kevin Kosovich, Head of Structured Finance Australia and New Zealand. His appointment is effective immediately.

Based in Auckland since 2007, O’Rourke previously spent 13 years in London, including 11 at Deutsche Bank where he was most recently European Co-Head of Global Principal Finance. He is a chartered accountant, a director of CIP, a member of Deutsche Bank's New Zealand Supervisory Board, and a member of the New Zealand Financial Markets Association Board.
