Deutsche Bank and the Deutsche Bank Americas Foundation today announced three grants in Peru in conjunction with the opening of the Bank’s first subsidiary in the country. The grants, which total more than USD $100,000, will be provided to Museo de Arte Contemporaneo (MAC), Agualimpia, and Ciudad Saludable.
Museo de Arte Contemporaneo (MAC) will receive a grant for the construction of the reception area pavilion of its new building. The MAC will be the preeminent museum exclusively devoted to contemporary art in Peru.
Agualimpia will receive a grant to advance its mission to bring clean water to impoverished communities in Peru by facilitating the design, construction and maintenance of sewage and clean water projects throughout the country. The organization also focuses on educating the communities about the use and maintenance of the projects.
Ciudad Saludable works with public and private entities to promote sustainable management of solid waste and job skills development for low-income workers. The Deutsche Bank grant will focus on increasing income for Lima residents working in the sector.
“We are proud to partner with these outstanding organizations as part of our long-term commitment to building our presence in Peru,” said Jose Miguel Alcalde, Chief Country Officer for Chile and Peru.
“Deutsche Bank is committed to supporting the communities where we work and live, so it is extremely gratifying to announce our presence here by giving back to our new community,” said Seth Waugh, CEO of Deutsche Bank Americas.
“These three grants support Deutsche Bank’s strong global commitment to sustainability, advancing opportunities for the poor, and the arts,” said Gary Hattem, President of the Deutsche Bank Americas Foundation. “These organizations are truly innovative and make a real difference in Peru, so we are pleased to support their efforts.”
