Deutsche Bank expands Natural Resources coverage in the Americas

Curt Launer to join as a Managing Director in New York

Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. today announced that Curt Launer will join the firm’s Natural Resources corporate finance coverage group as a Managing Director focusing on MLP (Master Limited Partnerships) and midstream franchise coverage. He will be based in New York, reporting to Dan Ward, Head of Energy for the Americas.

Launer joins from Sagent Advisors where he was a Partner and Head of the Energy and Power Group. He brings more than 25 years’ experience in investment banking, including 17 years as a top-ranked Natural Gas equities research analyst.

"Curt has been a high profile player in the MLP and midstream space for many years and he will be instrumental in taking our business to the next level,” said Michael Hill, Co-Head of the Global Natural Resources Group. “These energy subsectors represent substantial opportunities, particularly in the Americas, and Curt’s appointment underscores Deutsche Bank’s continuing commitment to its clients across the entire natural resources spectrum.”

“We are extremely pleased to add Curt to our team as we continue to expand our platform in the region,” said Dan Ward. “His background in the sector and deep client relationships will be invaluable to our clients and the bank.”

Launer’s appointment follows the recently announced appointment of Tim Kisling as Head of Power, Utilities, and Midstream M&A at Deutsche Bank. Launer earned a B.S. in Business from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
